WhisperClaims' +AI project Review feature - what you need to know

WhisperClaims' +AI project Review feature - what you need to know

What is WhisperClaims +AI (Beta)?

It’s a new feature within WhisperClaims that uses AI to review your project description narrative, and offers helpful suggestions. It’s designed to support you in preparing strong, compliant narratives.

How does it work?

The AI will review one project at a time. If you have multiple projects that you would like reviewed, you will need to request a review for each one. The AI will look at each section of a project and highlight where more detail might be useful, suggest improvements to clarity, structure or tone, flag inconsistencies across responses, and so on. The AI is there to support your expertise, it doesn’t replace it.

It’s also worth mentioning that a request can take up to a minute to come back, so don’t be alarmed if it feels like it is taking too long. The progress bar will indicate when the request is being returned.

Who provides the AI tool – is it built by WhisperClaims?

This version of our +AI has been developed with a trusted third-party provider who specialises in AI-powered compliance tools. They already work with several firms in the R&D tax space and we’ve configured the technology specifically for use within WhisperClaims.

We’ve tested it extensively prior to this soft launch, and will be monitoring its performance throughout the beta period. In time, we may explore building our own in-house version, but for now we’re focusing on giving our users early access to a helpful and reliable tool that can add value straight away.

What doesn’t it do?

It won’t write content for you. It doesn’t replace our in-app risk review, and it doesn’t make submission decisions. And, it doesn’t replace our Advice Line or Claim Review Services.

Will this replace your Advice Line or Claim Review support?

Absolutely not. Our Advice Line, WhatsApp group, and additional review services remain a core part of our support offering.

How is this different from the in-app risk review?

Our automated in-app risk review assesses the company and claim data to highlight potential red flags. The new +AI functionality is separate – it focuses solely on reviewing your project narrative, for quality and completeness.

Is it optional?

Yes – entirely. You can choose to ignore it, try it ad hoc, or ask for it to be turned off at a licence level.

Is it free?

Yes – during the beta period it’s free for all users. We’ll gather feedback and introduce flexible pricing in the future. At the moment we are considering a variety of options, such as a monthly add-on if you want full access, pay-as-you-go if you prefer to use it occasionally, or, you can opt to have it turned off entirely.

Why are you doing this now?

Some of our customers are fully embracing AI, whilst others are more sceptical. This beta lets you test it out in your own time, so there is no pressure either way.

What makes this different to your competitors?

Other providers offer either 100% AI powered options or +AI, but only as part of a more expensive plan, with no human support. We are 100% committed to continuing to offer our in-person help and support, whilst providing flexible access to +AI with no forced upgrades in the future.

Can the AI get things wrong (e.g. “hallucinate”)?

Like any generative AI tool, there is a risk that it may occasionally suggest something that’s inaccurate, misleading or not applicable to your specific client scenario. This is known as “hallucination”, and while we’ve configured the tool carefully to reduce this risk it’s not possible to eliminate entirely. That’s why we always recommend that you review and apply your own professional judgement when using the tool’s suggestions. It’s there to assist you, not to replace your knowledge, experience, or responsibility as the adviser. If you ever spot something that doesn’t feel right, or you’re unsure about, please get in touch with us. It’s especially helpful if you can include the company name and year-end of the claim you’re working on, so we can investigate and support you quickly.

How can I give feedback?

We’d love to hear your thoughts. Please just get in touch on the usual channels.
